Tea cultivation in Ilam dates back to 1863, when the first Camellia sinensis bushes were gifted to Colonel Gajraj Singh Thapa and planted on the rolling hillsides of eastern Nepal. Sharing the same alpine geological ridge and climate as nearby Darjeeling, Ilam’s pristine environment yields teas celebrated by connoisseurs worldwide.
Our Ilam lots come directly from certified organic smallholder cooperatives and single-estate artisan micro-factories in Kanyam, Fikkal, and Jasbire, ensuring direct-trade freshness and fair farmer compensation.
