Nepali tea garden in the Himalayas
Our Story & Heritage

Bringing Himalayan Terroir to Your Cup

Chiya Bazaar was born out of a deep reverence for Nepal's pristine tea-growing regions — Ilam, Dhankuta, and Taplejung. We bridge the gap between high-altitude tea gardens and tea connoisseurs worldwide.

Rooted in Tradition

Artisan Tea Cultivated at the Roof of the World

High in the mist-shrouded foothills of Mt. Kanchenjunga and Mt. Everest, Nepal's eastern hills possess some of the richest volcanic soil and clearest mountain air on earth.

For over a century, local tea growers have refined the art of producing orthodox black, silver needle white, and aromatic green teas. Yet, much of this exceptional harvest remained hidden from global tea lovers.

At Chiya Bazaar, we partner directly with certified organic smallholder farms. By eliminating unnecessary middlemen, we guarantee that every leaf is freshly packaged at origin while returning fair prosperity to rural mountain families.

The Artisan Crafting Journey

Every pouch of Chiya Bazaar tea represents meticulous care and traditional expertise.

01

Dawn Hand-Plucking

Farmers carefully hand-select two leaves and a bud at sunrise, capturing peak fragrance and moisture.

02

Himalayan Sun-Withering

Leaves are gently spread on bamboo trays allowing pure mountain breeze to reduce leaf moisture naturally.

03

Artisan Hand-Rolling

Master craftsmen roll the leaves to release natural essential oils without bruising the delicate leaf structure.

04

Precise Oxidation & Drying

Carefully timed oxidation followed by wood-fired drying locks in signature muscatel and floral flavor notes.
